Our Story

The Sacred Heart Cathedral, originally known as St. Margaret’s Church, has a rich history dating back to 1856. Established in honor of Marguerite LeClaire, a key figure in Davenport's founding, it was renamed in 1891 as the first cathedral in the U.S. dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
