Founded in 1996 by Richard and Mary Groves in Bend, Oregon, the Sacred Art of Living Center is a pioneering nonprofit spiritual education institute. It offers workshops, retreats, and professional development resources that focus on whole-person caregiving, particularly in the realms of living and dying. Inspired by the world’s great wisdom traditions, SALC has positively impacted over twenty thousand participants from thirty-five countries.
SALC empowers caregivers to cultivate resilience, wisdom, and strength while serving others in times of need. The center provides access to rich emotional health and spiritual direction, mentoring over 300 Anamacara Graduate Apprentices who share their insights globally. Through its programs, SALC offers comfort and spiritual healing during life’s transitions and losses.
