Our Story

The Sacramento Gay Men’s Chorus (SGMC) was founded in 1984 during the AIDS epidemic to create a supportive community for gay men in Sacramento. Over the years, SGMC has become a vital part of the LGBTQ+ and artistic communities, offering musical performances and outreach programs that foster inclusivity and acceptance.

Impact

SGMC confronts intolerance and bigotry by showcasing the positive experiences of the Queer Community. With a dedicated membership of one hundred, the chorus focuses on musical excellence and dynamic choralography.
