Our Story

Founded in 2015 by Sarah Thompson, the Sacramento Kindness Campaign began with a simple yet powerful initiative: the ‘Kindness Quiche’ program. This program provided meals to hurting and hungry families across Sacramento, resulting in over 1,000 quiches made in its inaugural year. In 2016, SKC partnered with the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services to host an ‘Event for Hope,’ benefiting refugees and special immigrant visa holders. This partnership highlighted SKC's strength in identifying and addressing gaps in services for those affected by poverty. Each year, SKC assesses community needs and mobilizes resources to fill those gaps, impacting over 48,000 individuals through collaborations with local organizations.

Our Impact

Through dedicated efforts, the Sacramento Kindness Campaign has provided essential support to over 43,000 individuals struggling with hunger, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. The organization has furnished hundreds of homes and offered emergency shelter, food, and transportation assistance to unhoused children and their families, ensuring that no one is left behind.
