The Sacramento Jazz Education Foundation was established in 1996 to manage donations specifically for youth jazz education. Originally formed to support the Sacramento Traditional Jazz Society’s annual Youth Jazz Camp, now known as the Teagarden Jazz Camp, it became a separate 501c(3) entity to ensure that funds are dedicated solely to this cause. Since rebranding in 2018, the Foundation has expanded its programs through generous donations and endowments.
By supporting early jazz education, the Foundation fosters teamwork and collaboration skills among young musicians, building their confidence and sense of belonging. Over 95% of donations are directed towards youth education programs.
