The Sachem Youth Soccer League was established in 1977 to provide youth soccer opportunities in the Sachem community. Starting with just 80 registered players, the league has grown to over 1800 children and 260 volunteer coaches. SYSL focuses on developing youth both on and off the field, emphasizing essential skills such as communication, teamwork, and discipline.
SYSL has become one of the largest youth soccer leagues on Long Island, offering soccer education and opportunities for thousands of children. The league hosts numerous tournaments and festivals, attracting participants from across Long Island and beyond, and has nurtured players who have advanced to compete at high levels, including high school varsity teams.
