Our Story

Founded in 1897 by Czech immigrants in Texas, S P J S T Rest Home began as a fraternal benefit society aimed at providing economic security and fostering community among its members. In 1956, the organization recognized the need for elderly care and allocated funds to establish a home for the aged. The first facility opened in Taylor, Texas, in 1957, followed by additional communities in Needville and further expansions in Taylor.

Today, S P J S T Communities of Care operates multiple facilities, offering a range of services including skilled nursing and assisted living. The organization is governed by a Board of Directors elected from its members, ensuring that the needs of the community are met with compassion and dedication.
