Our Story

Founded by Susan Johnson, Support Our Scholars Inc emerged from a personal journey of overcoming adversity. After facing an unstable childhood and leaving high school, Susan found guidance through mentorship, which transformed her life. Recognizing the struggles of young women in her community, she gathered a group of dedicated women in 2004 to support disadvantaged female students in their pursuit of higher education. What began as assistance for one student has blossomed into a robust program that has empowered over 85 graduates through financial support and mentorship.

Our Impact

Support Our Scholars provides essential financial support, including $10,000 scholarships, housing assistance, and emergency funds, ensuring that financial challenges do not hinder the dreams of our scholars. With a remarkable 94% graduation rate, the organization continues to uplift and inspire young women to achieve their academic goals.
