Our Story

In 1986, James “Gunny” Gregory, a dedicated Marine Corps Drill Instructor and Combat Veteran, was inspired by a Los Angeles parade for Vietnam Veterans. This pivotal moment led to the creation of the Run for the Wall motorcycle ride in 1989, aimed at fostering healing among veterans, honoring those killed in action, and advocating for accountability of POWs and MIAs. Over the years, this event has expanded to include multiple routes, becoming a significant gathering for veterans and supporters alike.

Impact

Run for the Wall has successfully organized annual motorcycle rides from California to Washington, D.C., with over 1,800 participants each year. This event not only promotes healing but also strengthens community bonds among veterans and their families.
