About Ruling Our eXperiences

Founded in 2006 by Dr. Lisa Hinkelman at The Ohio State University, Ruling Our eXperiences (ROX) began as a research study aimed at understanding the challenges faced by girls. Officially established as a nonprofit in 2011, ROX is dedicated to creating generations of confident girls who take control of their relationships, experiences, decisions, and futures. With a national reach, ROX serves over 7,500 girls annually across nearly 40 states.

Impact of ROX Programs

ROX has implemented evidence-based programs that have led to a remarkable 63% decrease in bullying and relational aggression among participants. Furthermore, 86% of ROX girls report increased self-esteem and confidence, while 9 in 10 feel safer and more capable of protecting themselves. The organization fosters a supportive environment, with 78% of participants feeling more connected to their schools.
