Our Story

Rubia Handwork was founded to create economic opportunities through craft heritage, supporting education and promoting health and well-being for women and their families in Afghanistan and beyond. Initially working with Afghan women refugees in Pakistan, Rubia has expanded its mission to empower artisans in Mali through the sale of traditional bogolan textiles.

Impact

Rubia enables women and youth in Mali to escape poverty through the sale of bogolan (mud cloth), supporting artists' livelihoods while preserving the cultural heritage of the Bamanan people. This connection enriches the lives of artisans and their families.
