Our Story

Founded in 1976 by Roy Maas, the organization began with a 16-bed emergency shelter for abused and neglected boys. Over the years, it has expanded to include Girlsville and merged with other agencies, evolving into Roy Maas Youth Alternatives. Today, RMYA offers a range of programs including emergency shelter, long-term residential care, family counseling, and transitional living, positively impacting thousands of youth and families.

RMYA provides essential care and counseling services to children who have experienced trauma, helping them heal and regain hope. The organization has served thousands, creating a safe environment for recovery.
