About Rose Rock School

Rose Rock School, originally known as The Purple House, was founded in 2007 by Shanah Ahmadi. With a vision to create a nurturing environment that resembles a warm family setting, the school emphasizes the importance of strong bonds between children and caregivers. As the only LifeWays-oriented childcare facility in Oklahoma, Rose Rock School offers an alternative to traditional institutional childcare, focusing on unstructured play and freedom of movement essential for optimal brain development.

Our Journey

Over the years, Rose Rock School has experienced tremendous growth, driven by the support of the community. The school transitioned from a small home-based program to a nonprofit organization, expanding its facilities and curriculum. In 2012, the school purchased a large property in Norman, Oklahoma, allowing for further development and the addition of a Kindergarten building. By 2015, the school combined its locations and expanded its faculty to include more teachers and staff.

Rose Rock School offers an education that respects the developmental stages and unique qualities of each child. The curriculum fosters cognitive skills, emotional awareness, and meaningful engagement with the world.
