Our Story

In the late 1980s, Dan and Rosemary Kelly faced a profound challenge when their son John was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Unable to find a suitable program that offered comprehensive treatment and compassionate follow-up care, they took it upon themselves to create a solution. With support from individuals and corporations, they acquired a 372-acre property in Holly, Michigan, establishing a state-of-the-art residential mental health treatment community that opened its doors in May 1992. Today, Dan Kelly continues to advocate for the Rose Hill Foundation, inspired by the spirit of his late wife, Rosemary.
