Our Story

Rootz of Music, Inc., founded in 2011 by renowned jazz guitarist Eugene Grey and his wife Felicia K. Grey, is a Florida-based nonprofit dedicated to inspiring individuals through music. The organization aims to create, develop, and support programs that advance music education, particularly for underserved youth. One of its flagship initiatives, "American Roots of Jamaican Music: The Legacy," showcases the rich history of Jamaica’s popular music through engaging presentations in schools and community centers.

Impact

Since its inception, Rootz of Music has partnered with SOS Children's Villages Florida to provide a free weekly music program, positively impacting the lives of countless young people in the community.
