Our Story
The Roots of Music was founded in 2007 by Grammy winner Derrick Tabb, a CNN Hero, in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. This organization emerged to fill the void left by the absence of music education programs, providing a nurturing environment for youth to thrive through music.

With over 2,500 hours of music education and 30,400 nutritious meals delivered, The Roots of Music is dedicated to empowering low-income students through comprehensive support services.
