Our Story

Romania Leadership Ministries traces its roots back to the oppressive communist regime in Romania, where Elisei Rusu and a group of young Christians initiated an underground church training movement. After being arrested in 1985, Elisei and his family were exiled to the United States. Following the fall of communism in 1989, Elisei returned to Romania and established one of the first Evangelical Christian Bible Institutes in 1992. This institute has since trained over 700 individuals who now serve as pastors, teachers, and elders in churches across Europe and beyond.

Since its inception, TBI has empowered over 700 church leaders, significantly contributing to the growth of Christ's Church in Romania and Europe.
