Our Story

Founded in 2006 by Dana Costin, ROLDA emerged from a heartfelt rescue of a stray dog in Galati, Romania. The organization was born out of a need to combat the rampant issues of stray animal overpopulation and cruelty, particularly in public shelters that often resort to inhumane methods.

Our Impact

In 2023, ROLDA made a significant difference by helping over 19,000 animals in Romania and Ukraine. This effort has led to a substantial reduction in the stray population in the areas served, providing essential medical care, shelter, and rehabilitation for rescued animals.
