Our Story
Founded in 1968, the Rogers-Pierce Children's Center was established as a nursery school dedicated to children of all racial, ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds. The founders aimed to create a stimulating program that not only nurtured preschoolers but also fostered connections within the community. In 1970, the center expanded to offer full-day programs, addressing the needs of working parents. In response to the tragic assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Sally Rogers rallied the Pleasant Street Congregational Church to support the creation of a multicultural childcare center, which has since become a beacon of racial justice and inclusivity.
