Our Story
The Rochester Speed Skating Team, rooted in the rich history of Rochester, NY, has been a beacon for speed skating enthusiasts for decades. From its early days at Cobb’s Hill Park, where the community gathered to skate on the pond, to the establishment of the ESL Sports Center in 1998, the team has seen a resurgence in interest and participation. With a commitment to fostering talent, the team has produced remarkable athletes, including Olympic Gold Medalist Cathy Turner. Today, the Rochester Short Track Speed Skating Team continues to thrive, welcoming skaters of all ages and skill levels, and offering a supportive environment for both competitive and recreational skaters.
