Our Story

The Robert M. Takasugi Public Interest Fellowship was established in 1999 by the legal community to honor Judge Robert M. Takasugi's legacy. This Fellowship promotes public interest legal work, focusing on empowering women and minorities. By selecting fellows from across the nation, it funds their summer legal work in public interest organizations, primarily in the San Francisco Bay Area and Greater Los Angeles Metropolitan Area.

Impact

To date, the Fellowship has awarded nearly $75,000 in funding, supporting law students in their pursuit of careers in public interest law.
