Our Story

Founded in 1987 by Sister Vera Gallagher, Roanoke Park Counseling was established to provide essential therapy services for survivors of childhood sexual abuse. Originally named Shepherd's Counseling Services, the organization rebranded in 2019 to eliminate any religious connotations that might prevent survivors from seeking help. Over the years, Roanoke Park Counseling has expanded its services to support male survivors and their partners, ensuring that therapy remains affordable and specialized.
