About Riverview Hope Campus
Riverview Hope Campus began as a collaborative initiative between the Homelessness Task Force and the City of Fort Smith, aimed at addressing the growing issue of homelessness in the River Valley. In 2009, the Fort Smith Board of Directors recognized the increasing number of homeless individuals and formed the Homelessness Task Force to gather essential data to guide the city in assisting those in need.
By March 30, 2010, the task force presented its findings, leading to the City’s resolution to support the development of a Campus Model approach, which has proven effective in homeless prevention and management. Over the years, the Old Fort Homeless Coalition emerged, taking over the mission to raise funds and make HOPE Campus a reality.
Today, HOPE Campus stands as an independent 501(c)(3) organization, providing a wide range of services to the impoverished residents of the River Valley. With a comprehensive approach, HOPE Campus has achieved an impressive 80-95% success rate in helping individuals transition out of homelessness.
Impact of HOPE Campus
The campus model has a remarkable success rate, defined as individuals not returning to homelessness for one year. This approach not only provides immediate relief but also promotes long-term self-sufficiency.
