Our Story

In the early 1950s, a group of passionate artists came together to form the Riverside Art Association, aiming to foster a love for the arts. Initially housed in a repurposed Municipal Dog Pound, the organization evolved and, in 1967, established the Riverside Art Museum in the historic YWCA building. Over the years, the museum has undergone renovations, enhancing its role as a cultural cornerstone in Riverside.

Impact

The Riverside Art Museum and The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture are essential cultural resources, showcasing diverse artistic expressions and nurturing creativity through various programs and exhibitions. The museum has seen record-breaking attendance, reflecting its significance in the community.
