Our Story
Founded in 1981 by passionate theatre enthusiasts, Riverfront Playhouse has been a cornerstone of the Redding community for over four decades. The first performance took place on July 10, 1981, at 1620 East Cypress Avenue, and in 1982, the organization proudly became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. Now located at 1950 California St, Riverfront Playhouse stands as the region's longest continually operating, all-volunteer community theatre.
