Our Story

Founded in 1971 by Dr. Norma Gray, River Valley Child Development Services began as the Region III Early Childhood Demonstration Center. Initially aimed at showcasing effective preschool programs, the organization has evolved significantly over the decades. In 1990, it adopted its current name, reflecting its broader mission. Today, River Valley serves over 12,000 individuals annually through various initiatives, including the Family Child Care Food Program and Child Care Resource and Referral agencies.
