Our Story
Founded in 1982 by passionate members of the South Congregational Church in Kennebunkport, Maine, River Tree Arts began with a donation of an Elmont S. Tyndale piano. This gift, combined with the presence of international concert performers seeking rehearsal space, sparked the inception of a vibrant summer concert series. The organization derives its name from the double apple tree that stands by the Kennebunk River, adjacent to the church. The inaugural concert series featured talented artists, including Mrs. Lois Anderson Stein and the Dirigo Brass Quintet, captivating audiences with inspired performances.
