Our Story

The River Revitalization Foundation was founded in 1994 by the Kiwanis Club of Milwaukee and the Rotary Club of Milwaukee to implement the Riverway Plan's recommendations. This initiative aims to enhance the environmental quality of the Milwaukee River Basin by establishing a parkway for public access, recreation, and education along the Milwaukee, Menomonee, and Kinnickinnic Rivers.

Our Impact

Over 25 years, the River Revitalization Foundation has protected 821 acres, established the Milwaukee River Greenway, and created 5 miles of riverfront trail connections. Thousands of native trees and plants have been planted, and over 45 acres of habitat restored, benefiting the community with healthy soil, clean air, and clean water.
