Rising for Justice, originally known as D.C. Law Students in Court, was founded in 1969 to combat the lack of legal representation for low-income individuals facing eviction and other legal challenges. Over the years, the organization has expanded its services to include criminal defense, eviction defense, immigration defense, and social work programs, training thousands of law students and serving over 250,000 residents in Washington, D.C.
Impacting Lives
Rising for Justice has protected the rights of over 250,000 District of Columbia residents and trained almost 4,000 social justice advocates, providing free legal representation and social work services to those in need.
