Our Story
In October 2006, a Corpus Christi family faced a challenge when their son was diagnosed with Down syndrome. They quickly realized that the local community lacked preschool programs offering full-time educational and therapeutic services for children with developmental disabilities. Determined to find the best educational experience for their son, they discovered the Rise program in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, which focuses on the needs of toddlers and preschoolers with developmental disabilities.
Inspired by the success of the Rise Schools in other cities, the family, along with community volunteers and a dedicated Board of Directors, worked tirelessly to establish the Rise School of Corpus Christi. Officially opening its doors in August 2007, the school has since become a beacon of hope and learning for children with and without disabilities.
