Our Story

Founded in 1924 by Mrs. Andrew J. Porter, the Riley Cheer Guild began with a vision to uplift sick children at the James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for Children. A small group of dedicated women gathered to provide cheer and support to pediatric patients, believing that emotional well-being is crucial for recovery. Over the decades, the Guild has expanded its reach to include adult hospitals while staying true to its mission of enhancing the hospital experience for patients and their families.

Our Impact

Today, the Riley Cheer Guild serves over 2,000 families daily, providing essential services through community generosity. With more than $500,000 raised annually, the Guild continues to make a significant difference in the lives of patients and their families.
