Our Story
Originally known as ‘The Little School in the Woods,’ Ridgewood School has been a cornerstone of educational excellence since its inception in 1919. Founded by the Bretney, Kelly, Martin, Miller, and Wallace families, the school began with a vision for private education supported by local community members. After moving to its current location at 2420 Saint Paris Pike in 1962, Ridgewood has continued to thrive, thanks to generous donations from alumni and supporters. In 2018, the school expanded its offerings with the opening of the Jane P.B. and Peter Hollenbeck Preschool, further enriching the educational landscape for young learners.
