Our Story

The Rhode Island Developmental Disabilities Council believes in the full participation of individuals with developmental disabilities in community life. Established in the early 1970s following the Developmental Disabilities Act, the Council is composed of 24 members, primarily individuals with developmental disabilities or their family members. This dedicated group works tirelessly to promote advocacy, capacity building, and systemic change.
