Since its inception in 1957, the Rhode Island Civic Chorale and Orchestra has united singers from Rhode Island and neighboring Massachusetts through a shared passion for choral music. Founded by Dr. Louis Pichierri, the organization has evolved under the leadership of esteemed conductors, including Dr. Edward Markward, who served for 32 years, and currently, Dr. Joshua W. Rohde. The Chorale presents at least three major concerts each year, showcasing a diverse repertoire that spans from classical masterpieces to contemporary works.
