Our Story

Founded in the aftermath of September 11, 2001, by restaurant workers displaced from the World Trade Center, Restaurant Opportunities Centers ROC United has evolved into the largest restaurant workers-led organization in the United States. Dedicated to improving the lives of restaurant workers, ROC United unites individuals from diverse backgrounds to advocate for shared goals and values.

Our Impact

ROC United empowers restaurant workers to fight for livable wages, safe workplaces, and equitable benefits. With a membership of 65,000, including women, people of color, immigrants, and LGBTQIA community members, the organization is committed to fostering a fair and inclusive industry.
