Our Story

The Respite for All Foundation, founded in 2012 by Daphne Johnston, began as a Respite Ministry at First United Methodist Church in Montgomery, Alabama. This initiative aimed to support individuals living with dementia and their care partners. The program's success led to the establishment of the foundation in 2019, dedicated to spreading this impactful model nationwide.

Impact

Since its inception, the Respite for All Foundation has inspired 35 new volunteer Respite programs across the USA, serving over 1,000 individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. With over 100,000 hours of volunteer time logged, the foundation has trained more than 1,200 volunteers, making a significant difference in the lives of many.
