Empowering Youth Through Entrepreneurship

Founded in 2022 in Greenbelt, Maryland, the Young Entrepreneurs Society (2.0) builds on the legacy of its predecessor, YES (1.0), which positively impacted thousands of teens and young adults in rural Western Massachusetts from 1998 to 2013. Under the visionary leadership of Timothy Mitchell, YES aims to equip children and teens with essential skills in entrepreneurship, job readiness, and financial education.

Our Story

The journey began when Mr. Tim relocated to Greenbelt and joined the Greenbelt Cooperative Incubator. His passion for teaching was ignited when he was invited to educate students in the Earth Squad program about personal finance and entrepreneurship. This led to the creation of the BizKidz program, where young participants formed a cooperative business selling bicycle-blended smoothies, using their profits to fund educational field trips.

Through partnerships with local organizations, including the Greenbelt Community Foundation and Proteus Bicycles, YES has expanded its reach. The Young Entrepreneurs Program for special needs students and the Pre-Employment Program have further solidified YES's commitment to fostering a supportive environment for all youth.
