Our Story
Home energy ratings have been a vital part of the mortgage industry since 1981, initiated by a group of leaders aiming to measure the savings from energy-efficient homes. This effort led to the formation of Energy Rated Homes of America, which laid the groundwork for the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) in 1995. RESNET was established to develop national standards for home energy ratings and promote energy-efficient mortgages. Incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit in 2002, RESNET has since rated over 2.5 million homes, significantly enhancing energy efficiency in the housing market.
