EIN: 46-3198412 · New York, NY
Our Story
Founded by Robert Lee in 2013, Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) emerged from a personal experience with food insecurity. Recognizing the dual challenges of food waste and hunger, RLC was established to tackle these pressing issues in New York City. With the support of co-founder Louisa Chen and initial funding from a venture competition, RLC has grown from a local initiative to a multi-regional organization.
Our Impact
Since its inception, RLC has successfully rescued over 18 million pounds of excess food, translating to more than 15 million meals provided to those in need. This effort has also prevented over 41 million pounds of emissions, showcasing the environmental benefits of food redistribution.
