Our Story

The Rensselaer Land Trust, founded in 1987, is dedicated to conserving the open spaces, watersheds, and natural habitats of Rensselaer County, New York. In 2008, the Rensselaer Plateau Alliance was established to promote the conservation of the Rensselaer Plateau’s undeveloped forests and ecologically significant areas. Together, these organizations have successfully conserved over 16,000 acres of vital land.

Impact

With nearly 16,000 acres conserved, these land trusts ensure that natural areas remain protected for future generations. The merger enhances their ability to make significant strides in land and water conservation, especially in today's critical environmental climate.
