Our Story
Founded in 2008, Remedy Alliance, formerly known as the Opioid Safety and Naloxone Network (OSNN), emerged from a critical need to address naloxone access in the United States. Following the Summit on Opioid Overdose organized by Temple University School of Law, OSNN began as a networking platform, growing to include thousands of members dedicated to harm reduction. Under the leadership of Alice Bell from Prevention Point Pittsburgh, OSNN has evolved significantly. In 2012, key members negotiated with a major naloxone manufacturer to enhance affordability for harm reduction programs, leading to the creation of the Buyers Club. This initiative has successfully distributed over 4 million doses of naloxone from 2017 to 2021, saving countless lives.
Our Impact
Remedy Alliance ensures that nearly 500 harm reduction programs across 42 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico have sustainable access to low-cost naloxone. This life-saving medication is distributed directly to individuals who use drugs, fostering safer communities.
