Our Story

Founded in 2002, Refugees Helping Refugees (RHR) began as the Somali Community of Western New York, dedicated to supporting Somali refugees. As the refugee population expanded, RHR evolved to better serve a diverse community, fostering growth, self-determination, and self-reliance among Rochester’s refugees.

Impact

RHR has established vital programs that empower refugees to achieve self-sufficiency, including English language training, case management, and workforce development. These initiatives create a supportive environment for individuals from all backgrounds.
