Our Story
The Refugee & Migrant Women’s Initiative (RAMWI) was founded in 2013 to empower and support refugee and migrant women and their families as they resettle in the Tampa Bay area. By providing opportunities for healing, engagement, and skill development, RAMWI enhances the lives of these women, fostering a supportive community that promotes personal growth and advocacy.
Impact
RAMWI has successfully supported over 700 refugee and migrant women and families, helping them navigate their new communities and develop essential skills for economic self-sufficiency. The organization has been recognized for its impactful programs, including the Best Organization of the Year award from the National Association of Social Work, Tampa Bay Chapter in 2020.
