Our Story
Founded in 2007, Refugee and Immigrant Support Services of Emmaus (RISSE) began its mission by assisting refugees fleeing from the Congo. The organization quickly expanded its services to help these individuals find housing, jobs, and educational resources. With the support of dedicated volunteers, many of whom are immigrants themselves, RISSE has established vital programs such as after-school initiatives for children and English as a New Language (ENL) classes for adults. Partnerships with local institutions, including The College of Saint Rose, have further enhanced the organization's ability to serve the community.
