Our Story

ReFIT was founded in 1997 by a compassionate group of professional general contractors inspired by a family tragedy. After contractor Bill Markt's son, Jess, was left partially paralyzed from a car accident, Bill's friends came together to modify their home for accessibility. This act of kindness sparked the creation of ReFIT, dedicated to providing no-cost home modifications for individuals and families facing mobility challenges in the greater Portland area.

Impact

ReFIT has transformed lives across Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington counties by enabling individuals to live independently and comfortably in their own homes.
