About the Pal Center

Founded in 1995 by Police Chief Carlos Bolanos, the Pal Center has evolved from a sports initiative into a vital community resource for Redwood City. Originally established to engage youth in sports and keep them out of trouble, the organization has expanded its mission to address pressing societal challenges, including mental health, social justice, and the impacts of the pandemic. The Pal Center embodies a commitment to inclusivity and dynamic community solutions, ensuring that services are tailored to the unique needs of the community.

Impact on the Community

To date, the Pal Center has served over 17,000 local youth and adults, providing essential support to more than 500 children and 200 adults annually. This impact highlights the organization's dedication to fostering personal growth, education, and community engagement.
