Our Story

Founded in 1996, Red Wiggler Community Farm began as a response to the need for healthier food and meaningful jobs for adults with developmental disabilities. Starting on a 2.5-acre plot in Comus, Maryland, the farm has expanded to a 12-acre site in Germantown, Maryland, where it employs adults with developmental disabilities, providing them with vocational training and opportunities to grow organic vegetables for the community.

Red Wiggler Community Farm has successfully created a sustainable farming environment that employs adults with developmental disabilities, enhancing food security by distributing 50% of its organic produce to low-income households.
