Our Story

The Red River Gorge Climbers' Coalition (RRGCC) was established to advocate for climbing access and environmental protection in the stunning Red River Gorge of Kentucky. Since its formation, the RRGCC has successfully negotiated with the U.S. Forest Service to lift bolting moratoriums and has acquired over 1,100 acres of climbing land, ensuring climbers can enjoy world-class routes.

Impact

Through dedicated efforts, the RRGCC has secured permanent access to vital climbing areas and improved local infrastructure. The climbing community contributes an estimated $8.7 million annually to the local economy, showcasing the importance of this sport.
