Our Story

Founded in 2009 as SoberHood, RecoveryPeople began as the only recovery home in Texas for gay and bisexual men. In 2010, the organization received its 501c3 designation, allowing it to expand its mission from direct support to statewide training and advocacy. In 2017, the rebranding to RecoveryPeople reflected a broader commitment to peer-led recovery initiatives.
