Our Story

Recidiviz began as a volunteer project at Google, focusing on how technology can standardize criminal justice data and improve the system nationwide. In 2018, it became a standalone nonprofit, dedicated to transforming the lives of those impacted by the criminal justice system.

Impact

Recidiviz has successfully assisted nearly 70,000 individuals in returning home, contributing to over $1.1 billion in state savings. Projections indicate that these initiatives could lead to an astounding $3.8 billion in costs avoided and 245,000 life years restored.
